Foggy Nuke - Peter Verboom

I was driving home on the 401 Monday night and saw a large patch of fog just over the lake. I grabbed my gear and rushed down to the Pickering Waterfront to capture some images but by then the dense fog had moved eastward. This photo shows the tail end of it travelling between the reactors of the nuclear plant. The water was rough from the high winds so I did a long exposure of 3.2 seconds to smooth the waves. I would have tried a longer exposure to increase the effect, but I was at F32 and ISO 100 already and do not yet have any ND filters in my kit. If my girlfriend is reading this, my birthday is coming up ;)

  1. Very eerie. You did a great job of bringing the viewer into the shot with the expanse of beach and water in the foreground and have led them out by the faint glow of lights in the background. Nice work Pete, keep them coming.
